Here’s a little joy for you - I have a solo exhibition called “Some Things That May Be Helpful At Some Point” opening this Saturday, October 21st, at The Compound Gallery, Oakland CA. It’ll be full of things like the above.
Becoming more effective: the benefits of checklist usage.

“Everything in Moderation” mixed media on paper, 2017
I have a solo show at The Compound Gallery, in Oakland, CA, opening Saturday October 21, so expect a tedious amount of posting between then and now. Apologies in advance.
I detest the title I originally gave this drawing, so now it doesn’t have one.
“Untitled” Mixed media on cardboard, 2015.
A drawing of Mark E Smith inside the shape of Idaho. What more could you possibly want?
I’ve been pretty crap at posting stuff lately, but have now resolved to be a diligent social media contributor, This seems like a fine place to start.
Oh, and you can buy the original, if you want.
If anyone out there finds themselves with time to kill in the vicinity of Pittsburg, CA. between today (4/18) and May18th, I have a solo show at the Los Medanos College Gallery. The Gallery is located in the Library Building and is open Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 12:30 - 2:00 and 4 -6pm. There’s a reception this Thursday, 4/20, from 4-7pm. All welcome.
It’s March 9th, also officially known as “National Panic Day”. Which makes this the perfect launch day for my latest collaboration with the awesome folks at The Compound Gallery. So, without further ado, here it is – a limited edition Artisanal Fly Swatter.
Painstakingly constructed from hand forged steel and laser cut leather, this unique instrument of insect annihilation comes ready to display on its own pine wall plaque, complete with laser etched type and a hand crafted hook.
Only 20 of these astonishing artifacts exist. And each was individually created, assembled and finished by me, for the sole purpose of furnishing you with a life filled with joy and free of insects.
You know you can’t live without one.

I’m taking part in SF Open Studios for the first time this weekend. However my studio is a pigsty so it won’t be open. Instead my work will be on show at The Problem Library, 1288 15th Avenue @ Irving in the Inner Sunset. Opening this Friday 11/28 5:30 - 9:00pm. There’s a dive bar next door and an excellent record store across the street, so your Friday night needs should be pretty much covered.

This Saturday from 6 - 9pm sees the opening of A Full Plate , an exhibition of hand painted plates at The Compound Gallery in Oakland. I will have half a dozen specimens on show and available for purchase.
Part of the proceeds of each sale goes to support City Slicker Farms, which helps the West Oakland community meet the immediate and basic need for healthy, fresh food by creating chemical-free high-yield urban farms and backyard gardens. So not only do you get some cool crockery you get to feel warm and fuzzy about what a nice person you are too.
Prices are absurdly reasonable and you can purchase online right now, right here.
I painted a bowl for potato chips. And potato chips only.
