Dear People of the Internet, this is the final week of my exhibition ‘We Wish That We Were What We Once Were, Back When We Wanted To Be What We Are Now" at The Compound Gallery in Oakland.

This Sunday, March 13th, there will be a Closing Reception from 3 - 6pm. This event will also apparently include an 'Artist Talk’, starting at 4pm. As of right now I’ve no idea what that will actually consist of. Possibly an incendiary, Trump style oratory during which I vilify and belittle everything we hold dear, followed by the forced removal of random audience members by security guards. Most likely though it will just be me, in a state of mild embarrassment, mumbling incoherently for a short while.

Anyway, the forecast is for rain on Sunday, so if you’ve nothing better to do come along and see for yourself.

I have six drawings from the Apology Series appearing in a humor-themed show, appropriately entitled “Monkey Business” at the North Seattle College Art Gallery. The show opens Tuesday September 20th with two receptions, one at 1-3pm and the other at 5-7pm, and it’ll run until October 24th. The address is 9600 College Way North, Seattle WA 98103. Other exhibitors include fabulous fellow Compound artist Jeanne Lorenz. And lets face it, any exhibition that features the word ‘Monkey’ in the title has to worth a visit.

Let’s start the New Year off with an amiable, romantic apology. Not even a hint of profanity, unpleasantness or random violence.
Enjoy!
It won’t last.
Oh and on the off-chance that you have a few idle moments to kill, you can read my ruminations on the entire Apology Series in this here interview.

This is why I will never be the CEO of a Global Corporation. Well, that and my inability to maintain an acceptable level of personal hygiene.

Oh, and the contagious skin disease.

Actually the somewhat less sordid truth is that I discovered this sheet of letterhead paper tucked inside an old 1957 edition of “An Atlas of Anatomy for Artists” that I bought used at Powell’s bookstore on a recent visit to Portland. This drawing seemed to suggest itself as the natural conclusion to that fortunate coincidence.

It’s either a cheap laugh or a deeply insightful exposé of the male psyche.
Take your pick.

I haven’t posted many apologies lately. And I’m truly sorry about that.

“Forgive & Forget”, 2012,  20 inches x 9 inches. I thinks it’s what you’d call a mixed media ‘object’.
Of course if you’d care to buy it here you may call it whatever you want.

More Jesus themed artwork soon to be appearing at The RayRay Gallery in Chico CA. It’ll be a religious experience. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist it.)
