Just letterpressed a bunch of these  prints using a combination of vintage photo
plates and a judicial sprinkling of cynical ‘humor’. Available now, over the internet, for a mere
$30 each. How can you say no? Just let
Mr Mouse take you here.

Three Times The Fun.  Mixed media on board, 2015.

This object is currently up on the wall at The Dove Biscuit gallery, which can be found in The Last Bookstore, located in ‘happening’ downtown Los Angeles. It has a few of my other bits my bobs hanging alongside it too, so get yourself down there if you’re in L.A.

Very chuffed to be featured in this ‘Artist Notebook’ collection, published by Monsa in Spain, and available for a mere €25,90  right here. It’s a beautifully produced hardback book, with lots of excellent contributors (aside from my own lavish 14 pages!). Well worth a look.

This is a dry point etching with watercolor on paper. And it’s a thing of beauty that could be yours, right now, for a mere $35.00. Seriously. Buy Three.

Fascinating Things

Top thing: actual x-ray of my right wrist. The one that I use to draw. This is by way of an explanation for the lack of recent posts.

Bottom thing: a new piece for Art In A Box. Created before the wrist incident, obviously.

Another thing: an interview I did with Papirmass magazine, in which the aforementioned broken wrist gets a shout out.

Here’s a new suite of motivational letterpress prints that revel in the delightful title “The Grim Specter of Death”. Eight individual prints in total, in an edition of four of each print. Available, individually and collectively, at The Compound Gallery in Oakland right now, and in the gallery’s online shop (if you’re buying more than one use the code DAVID3 when you checkout to get a discount).

And if you’re in the vicinity of Los Angeles there will also be a complete set up on the wall at The Dove Biscuit Gallery, in The Last Bookstore in Downtown LA, as part of a show bewilderingly entitled ‘Defeating the Mentality of Defeatism’. The LA show opens tomorrow (March 7th) 6 -10pm, live music and positive affirmations will be provided.

Idleness and incompetence has prevented me from posting anything for quite a while. Realistically that situation is unlikely to change.

This piece is called “It’s Not About You” and it’s a mixed media drawing on a wood panel with an old book cover attached. Both the panel and the book cover were found in the street.

it now resides in a ‘Private Collection’ in Minnesota. (As they say in fancy art catalogues.)

I have six drawings from the Apology Series appearing in a humor-themed show, appropriately entitled “Monkey Business” at the North Seattle College Art Gallery. The show opens Tuesday September 20th with two receptions, one at 1-3pm and the other at 5-7pm, and it’ll run until October 24th. The address is 9600 College Way North, Seattle WA 98103. Other exhibitors include fabulous fellow Compound artist Jeanne Lorenz. And lets face it, any exhibition that features the word ‘Monkey’ in the title has to worth a visit.
